Tips and Advice
Planning a stag party can be a daunting prospect, especially when you are planning a stag weekend for a load of lads you haven’t even met before!
To help relive some of the stress, check out our key steps to a successful stag party and stag party organiser’s tips.
Step One
Decide on who is going to be the main stag party organiser or organisers.
From past experience it is always best to nominate one or two (maximum) stag party organisers. Too many cooks spoilt the broth as they say and this is soooooo true!
Step Two
Decide who to invite
Typically the stag party group includes:
Definites
The stag’s best mates and close family. Those that the stag really wants on his stag do, including you! Make sure all these people can attend, as they are the people that really count!
Possibles
Old acquaintances, people the stag hasn’t seen for a while and other family members, friends or work colleagues, that the stag is not that bothered if they turn up or not, but that ought to be asked!
Definitely No’s
People the stag really can’t stand but think they should be worthy of an invite!
Try picking a date they cant make or having a well thought out excuse at the ready!
Step Three
Decide where to have the stag party
Well of course it’s Marbella or Puerto Banus, as these are the top 2012 destinations where the stag is assured of having the most amazing time of his life!
Yes it is going to cost more than a stag party night in the UK but believe me it will be well worth it !
Find out what budget your fellow stags are willing to spend. It is pointless organising a five star hotel and fun filled packed itinerary if most guests can’t afford it. It is your responsibility as the stag party organiser to put together a package that suits everyone’s taste and budget!
Step Four
Decide when to have the stag party
This largely depends on when the stag and his definites can go ie when everyone can take holiday. Although Marbella and Puerto Banus are holiday destinations, weekends are always busier and the key months are from Easter to the end of September, when all the bars, clubs, beach clubs and nightlife are in full swing and the sun is shining!
Step Five
Decide where to stay
Marbella and Puerto Banus have a wide range of accommodation options including hotels, aparthotels, villas, apartments and townhouses. Contact Stags in Marbella to find a venue that most suits your group’s requirements and budget.
Step Six
Decide what to do
A massive part of the success of your weekend will be not so much where you are as what you do. Stags In Marbella Tips
Morning Activities
Experience has taught us that no matter, if you intend to have a night out and be up by 10am this is NEVER going to happen! In Spain the bars don’t get busy until after 11pm and clubs are open until 7am! So enjoy your day, take a disco nap and don’t go out too early. Enjoy your evening but don’t plan any morning activities until after 11am, by then you should be a bit more complus mentus!
Dining Out
Don’t book dinners too early, as most restaurants will be dead! The nightlife in Puerto Banus and Marbella doesn’t get going until after 10pm it’s best to dine around 8pm earliest so you can then go onto the bars and clubs when they are really starting to get going.
Fancy Dress
Puerto Banus is a popular hen and stag party destination so hen and stag groups in fancy dress is a common sight. But please beware, only certain bars and clubs accept stag parties in fancy dress. Most of the top nightclubs do not. Ask us for advice before going out as we don’t want you to be disappointed by being turned away on a night out.
Drinks Prices
Puerto Banus is not cheap. A drink (e.g. vodka and mixer) can cost around 10€, though the measures are huge!! Be careful how much you drink, as one vodka and orange would be the equivalent of say 3 or 4 measures in the UK! To keep costs down, contact us to finds out about the great deals we have on offer ie our 3 hour free bar at top nightspot, exclusive shot glass that gets you a FREE shot in every participating bar every night and much more.
Previous Stag Party Organiser’s Tips
Keep your mobile on you 24/7
‘Make sure you take your mobile phone with you wherever you go. It’s is incredibly easy to lose stragglers as the night wears on. This way, everyone can at least find you.’
Party animals
‘If you want to have a really wild time, make sure all the people you invite are up for it. There’s nothing worse than asking someone along who’s going to sit there feeling out of it and looking disapproving — while you’re all downing vodka shots and playing dares.’
Plan at least one day activity to keep you off the booze for a few hours
´A stag weekend always consists of binge drinking, but more often than not you’ll start to lose stamina half way in if you don’t have anythign else planned other than hitting the bars. Try arranging a daytime activity such as quad biking, paintballing, boat charter, go karting or buggy safari. These are great fun, which you will all enjoy and will more importantly keep you off the booze for a few hours – believe me it’s a welcome respite and means you’re more up for it afterwards!
